Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, head of the Consumer Guidance Organization, Lotfi Riahi clarified today that the visit that the organization made yesterday to the Mufti of the Tunisian Republic was at its request, and during this visit, he was notified of several questions concerning the Eid sacrifice.
He noted that the most significant point that was focused on was that several families tended to borrow to buy the Eid sacrifice. Is this method permissible according to Islamic law, and what are the legal rulings linked to it?
Our speaker confirmed that the Mufti of the Republic will intervene soon, and will explain to Tunisians the legal rulings regarding the sacrifice, the religious purposes, and the legal ruling concerning the situation of debt, revealing that neither a date nor a method for this intervention has been set.
Regarding the guidance that the organization can provide to citizens on this occasion, he stated that people must take into account their budget, and adopt the directives of the Mufti of the Republic in making the decision related to purchasing the Eid sacrifice, either with or without an advance.
He emphasised the necessity for farmers to avoid exaggeration and move towards adopting the meat company’s prices as a reference price, calling on the state to intervene at this point.
